It Takes Courage, in partnership with Libra Philanthropies, celebrates everyday acts of courage, seen and unseen, around the world. Our aim is to inspire, motivate and empower courage in others. This is how we will move the world forward. Together.
Why we exist
Civilization is in jeopardy. Courage is a fading quality. When we celebrate courage we inspire and encourage others, especially young people, to value and develop courage.
Our roots
It Takes Courage was founded in 2024. It was inspired by the Oxi Courage Awards, established by the Washington Oxi Day Foundation in 2011.
The Washington Oxi Day Foundation is a nonprofit, 501c3 organization dedicated to informing American policymakers and the public about the profound role that Greece played in determining the outcome of the Second World War. The Foundation celebrates modern day heroes who exhibit the same courage as the Greeks did in continuing to fight to preserve and promote freedom and democracy around the world.
